Valentine’s Day 2021 may look a little different this year with Covid restrictions in play, but there’s still much to do in and around Detroit with Covid safe Valentine’s day options for dining out, taking out and out-of-the-box activities that’ll make the day a special one. Whether you’re hoping for a night on the town or in your living room or a daytime activity that’ll have you home before the sun sets, here’s where to go to make it memorable.

Valentine’s Day 2021 can come equipped with a table for two despite corona at some of the most romantic restaurant destinations in town! These eateries are offering Covid safe dining options, including enhanced social distancing measures, mask wearing on behalf of the staff and seating limits. Andiamo Italia has with multiple locations throughout metro Detroit including Bloomfield, Dearborn, Fenton, Livonia, Riverfront, Warren, and more. The dining room is open at all locations for the first time since the latest shutdown. Enjoy your favorite Italian inspired dishes in an intimate dining atmosphere.
Assaggi Bistro, Ferndale, is open 11am-9pm on Valentine’s Day, February 14, with hit-the-spot selections from both the land and the sea.
Joe Muer, an upscale seafood restaurant in Bloomfield Hills or downtown Detroit has been offering fresh fish and creative specialty platters since 1929. Well-known for its delicious catches, you can celebrate with an unforgettable Valentine’s Day meal in its dining area. Call for details.
The Apparatus Room, Detroit, offers a Covid safe Valentine’s day suite separate from the rest of the dining space with a pre-fixe menu, supplemental add-ons, and exclusive wine pairings.
Grey Ghost, Detroit is re-opening its dining room on February 4 and is offering a five-course Valentine’s Day menu on February 13 for $85 per person.
Maru Sushi, Detroit, is putting together a four-course V-day dinner for two curated by its Executive Chef from February 12-14. A la carte options will also be available to customize as you wish.
The Rattlesnake Club, Detroit, is now book Valentine’s Day reservations. Join the club for the perfect romantic evening on the water.
The Whitney, Detroit, is offering a special four-course menu February 11-14, complete with live piano performances throughout the mansion and a souvenir Red Rose placed at each guest’s table.
Aquain Plymouth is offering a prix-fixe dinner for two that includes an Asian-American inspired dinner featuring house salad, yaki-glazed salmon or free-range chicken, creme brûlée and a bottle of Coastal Wines (Cabernet or Chardonnay). Enjoy a romantic meal ‘fishbowl’ style dining with views of downtown.
The Fiddler in West Bloomfield is also serving up a Russian prix-fixe dinner for two that includes two cups of homemade borscht, a pair of house salads, hand-rolled perogies, two entrees of your choice and Napolean Fiddler desserts.

Are you looking for Valentine’s Day activities that involve children? Check out Willow Greenhouse’s Paint & Plant event in Northville on February 6, 11am-12pm. All supplies will be provided. Children can decorate a pot, making it as simple or intricate as they’d like. There is also an option to pick up a kit the day before the workshop with instructions to do it at home. Feel extra crafty this V-day? The Creative Arts Studio in Royal Oak is offering Valentine’s pottery classes on February 4, 5, or 12 at 6:30pm. Participants can create a one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Gnome Tree or a special Valentine’s Pottery Painting piece with the help of an instructor. Class sizes will be limited to nine students and the cost covers instruction, firing, specialty glazes, plastic lights, and a light kit. Pottery is paid for separately in the studio.
