2022 Metro Detroit Halloween Events
October brings the undeniable pumpkin season. The delicious gourds and it’s uses find their way to the grocery store, coffee stops and in most every home across Metro Detroit. That means that Halloween is coming and all of the fun, frivolity, scariness and sweetness will be here soon. Metro Detroit residents and businesses put their best sweet and scary side together to offer fun and festive events for everyone. With most of COVID in the rear-view mirror, Halloween has some new normal to contend with but the sweet and scary side of things still exists. Here is our list of 2022 Metro Detroit Halloween events!

Canterbury Village Halloween Stroll in Lake Orion kicks off with hard-carved jack o’lanterns, numerous Halloween displays, live characters and all things Halloween. Tickets are advance sale only, $14.99 and $5 parking. Hint, use the coupon code OCM at online checkout for $2 off.
Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills has their annual SEA LIFE Tricks and Treats Sea Life Michigan. Serafina the Sea Witch offers a frighteningly good time with magical challenges and more. Tickets online and another code, OCM22 get 25 percent off ticket price.
Hallowe’en at Greenfield Village is a favorite each October weekend from 4:00 to 9:30 p.m. The grounds come alive with spooky events including a haunted train ride. Tickets are: $21.5 for members and $25 for the public.
Zoo Boo at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak takes place every weekend as well from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There’s entertainment, kids face painting and plenty of trick or treat stations. Tickets are Cost $17-23 and Parking is $8.
There’s also the one day Spooky Spirits at the Detroit Zoo on October 14th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for adults only. General Admission is $50, Designated Driver $30j and Parking $8. The 21 and over event offers time to explore the zoo, drink in hand, without the kiddos. There’s a costume contest, haunted trails, themed cocktails. Make a creative date night for Halloween.
For those looking for more of the spooky side of Halloween, check out the famed and longtime attraction, Erebus Haunted House in Pontiac. Open most every night in October, this Halloween tradition has tickets from $20 to $35. Worth every penny as Erebus in Michigan’s top-rated haunted house and one of the tops in the whole nation. And if you’re really into it, they are looking for employees. Get paid to scare your friends and family.
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra jumps into the Halloween spirt with a special concert – Halloween at Hogwarts – on Saturday October 29th at 11:00 a.m. Your ticket costs from $20-$30 and the magical concert will include all of the Harry Potter movie music selections. There’s also a costume contest and other pre-performance activities. Bring your Harry Potter outfit and cast your own magical music spell.
The Fall Fun Fest Macomb at Denweth’s Garden Center runs every weekend through October from noon to 5:00 p.m. each day. There’s a corn maze, spooky tractor rides a straw maze and inflatables for the little kids.
Downtown Plymouth offers the Pumpkin Palooza Plymouth. The free event takes place on Sunday October 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Open to kids and pets, dress up and check out the fun.
Romeo offers a unique event, the Tillson Street Romeo: Terror on Tillson event. The free event is hosted by the city and group of homeowners on Tillson Street. The neighbors do their Christmas light and display version of Halloween for all to enjoy.
In Royal Oak, there are daily $3 movies for kids at Emagine Theatre. There will also be Magic Pack Boxes available for $5 purchase price that include popcorn and drink. There’s also the Downtown Royal Oak Spooktacular on Washington Street. Kids are encouraged to trick or treat local stores and there’s a Monster Mash Dance Party, live entertainment and games. In West Bloomfield, runners are invited to take part in the HallowGlow Glow nights every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October. Beginning in 2014, TreeRunner has entertained, charmed and created lasting memories for their communities during the Halloween season.
TreeRunner returns this year after a COVID hiatus and the Halloween event and glow night is loaded with new features that make it the best all-around autumn and Halloween event of the year for family fun, all while being social distanced equipped.
Participants are encouraged to take advantage of the famous glow nights, riddled with Halloween flair. Themed exhibits are littered throughout the park for entertainment between trails. The three-hour experience concludes with each guest receiving trick-or-treat candy. HallowGlow Climb Tickets: $54 (Ages 6+) and HallowGlow Junior Park Tickets: $30 (Age 4 – 7 ONLY.)
