It seems every Clark Griswold wanna be finds a way to shine each Christmas. The holiday season just isn’t complete without homes, businesses and other displays of dazzling lights are set up and turned on. DTE generators are working overtime in Oakland County where holiday lights are fully lit and ready to be adored by one and all. Here are our best places to see Christmas lights 2021!

  • A quick jaunt to Rochester to Meadow Brook will quickly get you in the holiday mood. One of the most dazzling outdoor settings – Winter Wonder Lights – is sure to entertain both young and old. Lights and magic combine for the perfect holiday setting from November 26th to December 30th. The historic mansions and grounds come to life across Meadow Brook Hall and the Campus of Oakland University. Lights, magic and music accentuate the season as does festive concessions such as the glow in the dark cotton candy. Seasonal specialty drinks, bonfires and more await holiday visitors. The season includes Starlight Stroll, Holiday Tea and Santa Saturdays. Click here for ticket information.

  • The Northville Symphony of Lights at Northville Christian School has more than 150,000 lights set to the beat of holiday music. The setting is dedicated to celebrating the true meaning of Christmas – the birth of Jesus. Each day from beginning at 6:00 p.m. a 20-minute light and music show entertains the masses from December 1 to January 1. The set up takes 100 volunteers and over 400-plus man hours to assemble. The lights are synchronized to a combination of contemporary Christmas songs such as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra classic, Christmas Eve Sarajevo, a Disney classic as well as traditional Christmas music. The popular Christmas light show has been named one of the top 12 Christmas light displays in Michigan by OnlyinYourState.com. It's also been featured on MLive, the Detroit Free Press & many other news outlets around the Detroit area. This makes for a great activity for the entire family. Check out their Facebook page or more information.

  • The Livonia area seems to be a popular area for holiday lighting. Growing bigger and better each year, the home located near Middlebelt and Plymouth Roads is a holiday favorite. Just google, Bazillion Lights for more information.
