Firework Displays in Metro Detroit

Covid-19 may have put a damper on many of your holiday plans this year and last.  But fear not!  There are plenty of options for celebrating Independence Day in 2021.  Here are some firework displays in Metro Detroit the whole family will enjoy.

June 30

Fireworks at Stony Creek Metropark, 10-11 PM, 4300 Main Park Dr., Shelby Township, MI. Visit metroparks.com/parks/stony-creek-metropark for more information.

June 30-July 3

Salute to America: Summer Stroll, 6-10 PM, Greenfield Village, 20900 Oakwood Blvd., Dearborn, MI. Details at Henry Ford’s website.

July 1-5

Pickerel Tournament & Festival, The Fraser Lions Club Carnival, Algonac, MI, is the largest annual fundraising event for the Algonac Lions Club. It is a family friendly event complete with fireworks around Metro Detroit, along with carnival rides, a beer and food tent, vendors, live entertainment, and more. Admission to the fair is free. Ride bracelets will be available for purchase. Fireworks will start at 8 PM on July 2. Visit the festival’s page for details.

July 1

Willow Metropark, 23200 S. Huron Rd., New Boston, MI, will have its annual fireworks display at dusk. This is a free event. A Metroparks vehicle entry permit is required. For more information, call 734-697-9181. 

July 2

Kensington Metropark Fireworks, Huron River Parkway, Milford, MI. Fireworks will take place at dusk during the Huron-Clinton Metroparks fireworks festival. For information, call 810-227-8910.

Independence Day Fireworks in Lexington, 9:30-10:30 PM, Lexington, MI. For more information, visit the event’s site.

The Fire Bowl and Wildwood Amphitheatre, 2325 Joslyn Ct., Lake Orion, MI, will feature a fireworks display following the final show of the concert series. This is a free event. More details can be found here.

Fireworks over Whitmore Lake, 6 PM, First United Methodist Church - Whitmore Lake Campus, 9318 Main St., Whitmore Lake, MI. 

July 2-5

4th of July Celebration, Emmett KOA Holiday, 3864 Breen Rd, Emmett, MI. Details at KOA’s site.

The Stars & Stripes Festival is in Toledo, Ohio, this year. The festival is an annual patriotic gathering with a variety of live shows and activities including musical performances. Fireworks will take place July 5 at 10 PM.

July 3

Union Lake 16th Annual Fireworks, 10-11 PM, Union Lake, White Lake Charter Township, MI. More details can be found on Facebook.

Wolverine Lake Tiki Night Fireworks, 9 PM, near 425 Glengary, Wolverine Lake, MI 48390.  For more information, visit the City of Wolverine Lake.

July 4

Clarkston Fireworks 2021 – Pine Knob, 7778 Sashabaw Rd., Village of Clarkston, MI 48348. Fireworks will be launched from the top of Pine Knob and the event is to be enjoyed from home. 

Fourth of July Fireworks Show, 10:00-10:30 PM, Rolland-Warner Middle School, 3145 W. Genesee St., Lapeer, MI. 

Western Wayne County Conservation Association Independence Day fireworks (at dusk), 6700 Napier Rd, Plymouth, MI. Visit the festival’s page for details.

July 5

Independence Day at the Detroit Zoo will feature a fireworks display, 7-10 AM, 8450 W. 10 Mile Rd., Royal Oak, MI. Call the Detroit Zoo at 248-541-5717 for details.

July 8-10

Taylor Summer Festival, Heritage Park, 12-10 PM, 12111 Pardee Rd., Taylor, MI. The festival will include concerts, a carnival, and the fireworks at dusk. For more information, visit the City of Taylor’s site.

July 23

Fraser Lions Club Carnival, 34540 Utica Rd., Fraser, MI 48026, 4-11PM. The carnival is the largest annual fundraising event for the Fraser Lions Club with carnival rides, a beer and food tent, vendors, live entertainment, and a fireworks display at dusk. Admission to the fair is free, and ride bracelets will be available for purchase. 

July 24

Eddie’s Christmas in July Fireworks Show, 136 Walled Lake Dr., Walled Lake, MI. Fireworks begin at dusk. Visit MichiganFireworks.com for details.

Additional Summer Fireworks Displays

Jimmy John’s Field, 7171 Auburn Rd., Utica, MI. Fireworks are displayed after Friday night games, June 18-September 3. Call 248-601-2400 for more information.

Additional Waterford Fireworks will launch from different lakes throughout July at dusk, with the following dates and locations confirmed: July 3, Otter Lake Fireworks; July 9, Elizabeth Lake Fireworks; July 17, Williams Lake Fireworks. Visit this site for more information.
