Father’s Day is quickly approaching, and it may seem difficult as we emerge from social distancing restrictions to find that perfect spot to celebrate.  But fear not!  There’s still plenty to do in Metro Detroit this year to honor dads on their special day.  Here are a few happenings close to home.

The Father's Day Northville Edition of the Run Michigan Cheap Series is offering a chance to spend an active Father’s Day with dad with several races including a half marathon, 10k, and 5k.  The course will start at Cass Benton Park located at the corner of Edward N Hines Dr. and Cass Benton Pkwy., Northville, MI 48168, and follow the Hines Park Trail.  Sign up here.

The Troy Community Center is hosting a Father’s Day Dance: Under the Sea, Saturday, June 12th, 4:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.  Bring your favorite floaties and your dance moves to a simulated beach bash at the Civic Center Shelter on the corner of Livernois Rd. and Town Center Dr. Fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and all father figures welcome for an opportunity to dance with their young guests to three songs (one family-friendly tune requested by the guest).  A keepsake photo and a take home goodie bag will be included.
